I founded First Option Engineering Services to bring one of the most effective structural innovations of the last two decades to Kuwait: the UNIDOME hollow-body slab. After years working alongside consultants and contractors on residential, commercial and public buildings, I saw the same problem on every site — slabs that were heavier, thicker and more concrete-hungry than they needed to be.
UNIDOME solves that without changing how a building is built. Void formers sit between the reinforcement layers of a conventional flat slab, the concrete is poured as usual, and the result is a slab that is up to 35 % lighter with the same performance. Lighter slabs mean longer spans, fewer columns, smaller foundations and a real reduction in embodied carbon.
